Hi,

I am looking for a good air pump (manual or electric) to inflate/deflate RIB dinghy and water toys. There is that Italian electric pump for $200.- a lot of places is talking about but feed back on the internet for that is rather mixed.

Anybody has suggestions or experience?

Thanks,
David

$250 for the Bravo Kite pump with the built in rechargable battery, that will save me from dragging the jumpstart along for power. I'm about to order one. Is this the company with bad reviews?

Regards,
Mike

ps I should add this appears to be the only electric pump that puts out the 11 psi an air floor needs, which I assumed the poster had (looking at a $200 pump), cause there's plenty of cheap electric pumps out there for water toys.

Look at the Coleman site... I use their air pumps, dirt cheap and lasts a long time! I havent recharged mine in over 6 months!

David,

I had one of the pumps you are referring to. I had it for 6 months when the high pressure side quit. I returned it to where I bought it and they replaced it with the new and improved pump. It has now been running for 2 years without a problem. This thing has pumped up some serious amount of toys and inflatables. I love the suck down ability of the pump - really compresses toys and inflatables. Also love the battery power and convenient packaging.

Since the high pressure side has been upgraded, I haven't heard too many problems about them.

I'm with inkblue, Colemans are the best bang for the buck.

I just looked on the coleman site, there are several. One that is waterproof, available in both rechargeable and 12V, for about $20, this one does not state that it will inflate high pressure items. There is also 12V charging system that does both high and low pressure, and has a built in flashlight. I like the rechargeable aspect a lot, but can it blow up the high pressure floor of an inflatable?

I had the Brava 12 Italian pump made by Scoprega. It's like a fancy Italian car. It's great when it works, which is something you can't count on. I doubt I'd buy one again.

I have the Bravo 12 pump. It works fine but it is extremely loud.

The Bravo and the Kite pump are all the same manufacturer and design with different specs and it is the one I was referring to. I read many mixed reviews about it, particularly on a very large boating store's web site. They also come in a low pressure version with 4.5 psi which is the $200 version.

I do not have a high pressure bottom dinghy, that is why I wrote RIB dinghy but you need about 3.5 to 4 psi for a proper dinghy inflation. Regular blower type pumps are cheap but will not provide that pressure, at most about 2 psi which puts stress on the seams. You need a compreesor type pump for that pressure. It also must provide deflation as it is a hassle to package water toys.

I was hoping for feedback that they have improved but so far only one person wrote something positive about them.

Will check out the Coleman versions.

Thanks,
David
