is this stuff still avaliable or should I convert it to LP gas/propane

Alcohol stoves are still out there, but are being eclipsed by Butane and Propane. Butane is probably closer to alcohol in terms of usage. I used to have propane, which I loved, but remember that it is very volatile and proper installation of the tank and lines are required...

Personally, I don't like an open flame inside of my boat. I replaced my alsohol stove with electric as we use our stove alot. The only drawback is...I cannot cook while away from the dock...but, never have the desire to anyway

I never felt scared with the propane stove although it is a very volatile fuel. Those alcohol stoves scared the hell out of me, though...

I removed the old propane stove on our boat and replaced it with a new Origo 3000 alcohol stove. Much safer than the old propane system, by every account that i have read.

If you have a brand new propane system with full locker, etc, those are supposed to be great, but the older systems without the shutoff switch and all are just not up to spec anymore.

I guess it boils down to a matter of preference. After all, alcohol was the fuel of choice for a long, long time...

I had an alcohol fire onboard mt boat one time. I'll never use alcohol again! I like the one burner Mr Stove butane portable stove. I use it topside 'cause I don't like to cook down below. These little stoves seem to be very very safe.
