I have the Mando 55amp alternator on a 1998 5.7LX mercruiser. I have noticed my voltmeter reading low, i.e 12v or under. I have a brand new battery and voltage at the battery at fast idle is around 12.4 volts. Also, the alternator is not sounding very good. Does is sound like it is time to replace the alt, or is there somewhere else I should look?
