My 12 yr old 9' Caribe has served us well and it is time to replace.
We are looking at 10' Aluminum hull RIBs. We have a new 20 Hp Merc 4 stroke as outboard power. We like the flat floor deck (welded over a Vee bottom) and a bow locker for the remote gas tank. A high bow and large tubes are other features that we need as we drive thru rough water some time.

The first one that we saw was the AB Lammina 10.
Any body have info on this one of others like it ? 10' length is max as we bring it up on the bow with a crane for travel.

curious why you prefer aluminum over fiberglass?

The weight reduction is significant, around 20 pounds I recall. I can go with a bigger RIB with better features (Old is 9' Fiberglass and new is 10' Al ) and still be under the max payload for my front deck crane assembly.
The Aluminum is more durable when landings on rocks occur. I am also wondering how the Aluminum will impact noise from slapping, vibration etc....
Defender Warehouse sale is this weekend so sales are great.

I looked at AB dinks and almost bought and aluminum 14'. It would have FLOWN with a 40 Etec on it. The only thing that held me back was the location of the lift rings that were welded into the sole of the boat. We would have hammered our toes on them.
