I am almost ready to put my gas tank back in my 89 Supra Mariah. One remaining issue is the tanks mounting straps. The tank was in the back of the boat, sitting on stringers, and held down by aluminum straps. Between the aluminum straps and the tank was some sort of black material. At first I just thought it was rubber. But somewhere I remember seeing that you should not use a material that will hold water against the tank.
So what should I use? Plastic? Where could I get some? The straps are maybe one inch wide and 20 inches long.
