Cup races will be in Bermuda, NY is just practice. Too bad.

It still should be a great U.S. preview of what new technology might be applied to the latest 5/8th-scale-to-2013 preliminary contenders.

They indicate in the NYT article they have designated the race areas so as to not cause any disruption of normal daily traffic but that might be a bit of a stretch considering the vessels in the peanut gallery.

Anyone with a view of the Hudson is in for a real treat. As far as spectator boats go there is a 'no nonsense' policy when it comes to areas for spectator boats. Violate it after a marshal has asked you to move & the higher authorities will be there to escort you away.

In Bermuda in October there was only one incident in a huge spectator fleet, see my link above. It was a jetski. Why does it always have to be a jetski rider? He was taken off his machine, put in a police boat & taken to a waiting shore party who transported him to a nice quiet place.
