I have a really insane question for you folks. I asked folks on another news group and the general tone of the responses I got back was "you want to do what? why?", like I was asking for instructions on how to get back to the mother ship. Anyway, my boat is a PWC. It's a very capable little boat that does everything I need it to do. However, when the wind kicks up on the coast we get these nasty 2-3 foot chop. Any other boat would skim right over it, but seeing as how PWC are made to go really fast on very smooth water, the folks who designed PWC made them look fast and sleek and they are designed without a prow, just a pointy end. As such, everytime I head into the chop, I get a face full of water whenever the nose digs into the wave.
So, here's the question. Does anyone know of an easy way to put a decent bow on a PWC, just something a foot or two high and goes back a foot or so that has a moderate flare to help deflect the wave or help the PWC ride over it?
My goal is to make the ride drier and to make the PWC ride like a boat with a bow like every other boat on the water has. I'm really hoping I'm not the only person on the planet that thought of this and considers the PWC to be a boat.
Let me know if my idea is indeed insane or if the idea is plausable and how to go about designing such a thing. Thanks.
