I have a 1999 Regal Commodore 2760. My anchor and change broke off. What size chain and rode should I get to replace it?

The windlass will have a specification for the chain and that is what should be used. There might be a range of sizes that fit but what ever you do, do ensure the new chain fits the windlass.
I'd start with the manual for the windlass, and if it is not in the manual I'd google up the windlass model number and go to the manufacturer of the windlass.
Did the chain run out all of the way? If so look for a way to secure the end to prevent that from happening but don't use the hull LOL.

What boatbum said!
Dare I ask...How did the chain break?

If you have a windlass, the chain has to be sized to match the windlass’ gypsy. It should be stamped or mark with the chain size.

My windlass has 3 stamps. 1 has a 6, 1 has 3/16, and 1 has bbb. I can’t seem to find that chain size anywhere. Any ideas?

I am thinking, not knowing for sure, that BBB is the chain rating, 3/16 inch link metal diameter, but I am not sure what the link length is. I found the owner's manual for the boat on the regal site under owners resources. Highlighting the commodore line page and clicking open took me to it. However I did not see the mfg for the windlass.
Try looking inside the anchor locker with a mirror and flashlight for the mfg name etc.. All else fails call Regal before buying any chain.

Anyone on this site ever heard of google and searching for chain rating and size? Perhaps Jamestown Dist can educate you. Just curious!!!

3/16 BBB is a bit unusual… you may have to call various places and see it can be special ordered. Call places like Defender they re pretty good at ordering special items.

What a helpful post. Good luck finding 3/16 BBB on line… not a common size. 1/4 BBB yes…. 3/16 proof yes….

I never thought of looking at the underside for model/serial numbers. I may need them if I need to change the gypsy. I’m having a hard time finding 3/16” chain. Thx

Changing the gypsie is a good way to go forward if you cannot get the details of what you have. But Regal has to know what you have.

Judging by the answers, thank you btw, it looks like 3/16” bbb will be hard to find. If I had to special order it, it may be cheaper changing the gypsy to 1/4”. If that s an option.

Well you are going to have to call the mfg whether you like it or not. It could be the windlass will not support a larger chain and gypsy. A call to Regal or a Regal Dealer should provide the answers you need if it is impossible to id the mfg by looking over the windlass.
