Do you guys perform some sort of maintenance on your anchor line to keep it efficient in the windlass?
I replaced my line about 2 years ago, it was fraying at the chain connection and getting caught up in the windlass. I have a sprint vertical windlass. This year (last year some as well) I am having problems with the line getting caught up in the windlass. It's not that I have pressure on the windlass, it's more like the stiff line not moving smoothly through. It bunches up in the locker and I need to move the pile or it hangs up when it enters the gears. I pretty much must use the windlass from the foot petals to make sure it doesn't bunch up. Once I get to the chain it's fine.
I was thinking of cleaning and perhaps softening the line, would this help at all?
