I got some poly line 5/8" for .19 cent per foot. It seemed to be a good deal so I took the whole reel. 1200' I was hopeing I can use it for anchor line. Will it work all right for that? (polyester)

I tried a small piece in water and it sank. It feels just like the nylon
dock lines to the touch. Not bad on the hands at all. So I'm going to give it a try. Now how much should I use? 1200 feet at 7:1 is about 180 feet, sounds like a lot, But 600' at 5:1= about 120. that sounds better. What would all of you do?
