Anchor problem - she wont drop on her own

I added a windlass purchased from Boatfix and I love it! Added an anchor holder on the bow with roller but in my haste I used a 24-inch flat unit with no down angle or pivot.

As usual Foot over-killed the install with throughbolts with backing plates and tubes of 5200 under and above deck so she will never let me down .... so I do not want to remove the existing anchor roller to modify it.

So what can I do to make the anchor drop without running forward?

ANY idea would be appreciated.

Had the same problem. Got a large block of Delrin, shaped it to about 4" high, and mounted it to the deck just forward of the tip of the anchor shank. Raised the shank enough that it falls on it's own now.
 
That's it , or stop the retrieve "just right" before the anchor achieves equilibrium on the pulpit.

I have one but she is a bit lazy - plus climbing forward on my 40' requires a tiptoe along a 6-inch rail outside windshield and bimini frame....prefer to drop, play out line, do a a quick tighten on windlass and then go forward myself.
 
Would be good to see a picture but usually you can fix that by adding a stop so the anchor sticks out a little more with better balance

Or maybe a different anchor? What do you have? Some anchors have more weight up front and will fall ore easily
 
i have a danforth and a plow. Like leaving the plow on. I may try to tweak it so I can stop it just short. It gets tied down every use anyway....except when heading to boca lake for a hopefully easy anchor drop

Can you add down-angle by; 1-Reducing the size of the roller; 2-Repositioning the roller axle (lower)?
