I knew this would be an issue, but I still haven't come up with the best way to solve this yet.
I'm sure lots of people must have this problem, maybe you guys have a good solution.
We just bought our new boat, and I installed our new anchor last weekend. But when I go to let out the chain for the anchor the chain scratched the hell out of the fiberglass on the anchor area. We have a bayliner 288 ciera. It has a place built in for an anchor, also with a great little locker for it. I looked at some metal anchor kind of mounts that would hold the anchor in place, but with the set up on this boat, I'm not sure that they will work. Can I get some kind of hard plastic insert to mount in there? What kind of options have you guys come up with?
In the mean time, I'll be carefully letting out 30 feet of chain after my 22 lb anchor which is wearing out my hands pretty quick! The boat is wired for a winlass, but I think thats a bit out of our budget right now.
