I just baught my Anchor (you can't freeload forever) since I always come here for information I thought the least i can do is pay my way.

I challenge everyone on the carver thread to get there anchor

you can afford it (we aren't Bayliner owners)

I have mine. It's worth the price even without the invitation to the summer sleepover at the Boatered compound in New Hampshire.

I've heard the brownies are really......ummm...uhhh....no wait....wrong memory.

(smiling reading the posts) LOL sorry I was away awhile. Hey listen everybody, the folks in NBR (myself included) can be a bit whacky, but we are pretty real people and most of us are reasonable. Well okay "reasonably reasonable" ;)...

Seriously, its good to support BoaterEd by purchasing the anchor, because that is what pays for us to be able to put informative posts and articles in the free sections. Thanks to everybody for your support!!!

Oh yes...definately buy the anchor. It's a good time even if you don't agree with what's said, you at least have a voice. I guess I'm a little more liberal than they like, but I'm not changing for them.LOL

(smiles) don't change a thing, Kenny... SOMEBODY's gotta keep things entertaining in there :) !!!

I want to make a commitment and buy my anchor but I am not happy with my name. I just threw something in when I was looking for a boat and never looked back. Can I have my name changed so it is retroactive for all my other posts or do I create a new name and go from there?

Thanks,

Jim

I think Les can help you out...there was another thread on this subject, but it may have been in the members only area

I'm sure you can put in a claim on the cost of the Anchor? It's got to be part of the Stimulas Package. What else could cost more then a Bazillion dollars?

Referring to those of us who choose to not "purchase an anchor" as 'freeloaders' is offensive. Many of us support this forum in other ways, be it through purchasing from the site's advertisers, helping out with technical suggestions to to moderators and owner, or simply taking the time to research subjects and reply to questions posed on this forum.

'Freeloaders', in my opinion, are the guys that register, ask one question, get several great answers, and never post again (not even a 'thank you'). I encourage everyone to support this forum in any way they see fit. Congratulations on your decision!

I always thought a freeloader was someone who takes everything they can get for FREE without supporting financially...Someone who joins the site to try it out before actually supporting with the purchase of an anchor is not a freeloader...Someone who joins and never ever have any intention of supporting with an anchor is a freeloader...

Years ago a buddy of mine would join 5 or 6 of us at the local bar on Saturday evenings for a few drinks...We took turns buying rounds of drinks...He never bought a round as long as I can remember...He contributed to the outing with jokes and conversation though...He was and still is considered a FREELOADER...We eventually told him to hit the road if he wasn't going to support our outings...He moved on to another bunch of guys, who eventually put the run on him also...

Bob - It sounds to me like willysross is refering to himself. If you are offended it only because you are guilty yourself. Your only intent with your post is to call attention to yourself and start trouble. Your act is tired and incredibly borring.

Jim

Just an FYI, an anchor is not about NBR, it's about helping to make sure BoaterEd can continue to pay it's bills and exist for all of us to enjoy.

I went ahead and ordered my anchor....decided to keep the name....didn't want to get tar'd and feathered! Joke!
