Looking for a slip for 2014 for a 12 foot beam 35 foot boat preferably on either D dock or C dock. Would like the slip to have a finger pier. Does anyone know of any that will be available for my size boat?
 
If your boat has a 12 foot beam, you probably want a 13 (usable) slip. D dock I don't think is going to happen, but it is the best dock (views and traffic) in the Marina. I am not a fan of C dock, the commercial unit is there, the office as well. To boat yard like IMHO. A dock is nice as well as B dock. A1 to A20 is quiet with no street traffic, B1 to like B29 is the same but the advantage on this dock is you have the bathrooms close and the pool. Also, C dock up to about CC15 or so is pretty good. Your boat is too big for G dock, F dock is not bad also. I know of a dock for sale on B dock, 40k and you can finance it, much cheaper in the long run than renting.

Why would D dock not happen? Did I wait too long already for 2014??
 
Usually, there is not much vacancy on that dock. Just so you know, the price for a slip is not necessarily based on the length of a boat, but the beam. In other words, a slip with a 13' usable beam may be able to handle a 40 foot boat and would cost x, but a slip that has a 15' usable beam will cost more for that same 40' boat. I mention this so you don't go crazy over the different pricing for slips that can handle your boat.
 
Just went down to the marina and the security guard wouldnt let my family in. He knew nothing about a slip rental list for 2014 or that billy said we could come and take a look over the weekend. How can you not be able to look at slips on a Saturday or Sunday? I work Monday thru Friday in the city so its impossible for me to get down there during the week
 
I received an email from Billy the dockmaster of available slips and was wondering if anyone knew if the slip width that is printed is usable width?
 
Usually not.
You need a tape measure. Poles are not always where they say.
 
Billy is the bookkeeper, good guy, but certainly not in the know about anything marine related. Dave's advise is dead on.
