No power. No internet. No cell.
Sux!
And now, no boat!
I hate to say it but this is what I expected.
I knew being out of water was a dumb move, but the boats on my docks that stayed all have horrendous fiberglass damage.
Nothing that can't be fixed.
It was like damned if you pull, damned if you don't!

Just waiting for adjuster now.
I can't believe the carnage at that marina.
Break your heart to walk around and look at boats you know.
 
Dave, that sucks! Hopefully the insurance company will come through and make you whole. Maybe you can get a boat like Walters!
 
I am done.
I won't buy another big boat for a few years.
Long Island boating will suck for at least a year, maybe more.
Fire island is devastated.
There is no place left to go.
I will get a small boat and boat on north shore for a couple of years, then get a big boat.

Plus my marina is destroyed, and that will take time to rebuild.
Then there is all the **** in the water.
It's a mess. This is the so called nail in the boating coffin for me!

I trully love boating, but I can't deal right now with any of this.
And like a fool, I left alot of good memories, pictures, electronics, dvr, sat box, bluray player, notebook in my boat.
It's just horrendous loss.

Those pictures are incredible.. i have never seen damage like this before.. I was at the water today in Patchogue, and it looks like Fire Island east of Davis got really beaten up. there will be alot of junk floating for a long time..

Ok it seems that Thanks to Daves facebook photos I see my boat floating in the water on what appears to be B dock . Now mind you I was on the hard on F dock before the storm. Wont know the condition till I get there tomorrow morn but its floating. I don't know how its floating without a drain plug and also being that the drive was down. Sorry for every one effected by Sandy
but seeing all the damage to homes and loss of life I really am lucky even if boat is a loss. The other question I have is how would they even start to clean up the Anchorage.

My heart-felt sympathy goes out to all of you who suffered losses because of the storm. Just seeing the photos of the carnage and hearing the descriptions brings tears to my eyes. Though we've never met, I've grown to 'know' some of you and AYC through the forum. My prayers are with you all. Hy
 
Amazing.......that the boats on the storage racks are still on Long Island..........

Thanks Dave. Was really sad to see your boat the way she was. I used to show everyone that came out with me how nice she was. Everyone and a while the bilge still kicks on. No drain plug in and wedged on the finger slip that is sunk, I cant pull her forward or back to get on. Have a feeling the engine is flooded. By the way I really like the way my Buff Magic and Pro Polish held up.

You need to get on that boat quick because the tides are going lower and lower and each time it goes lower there is more weight on that finger pier.
If that finger pier collapses your in the water and sinking fast.
I have a dinghy but there are plenty just floating around.
Grab one, get something to plug the hole with, then get in the bilge and plug it!
 
I can't get there mandated at work. It is what it is at this point. Personally wish I found her already sunk.
The one thing I didn't want was water in the motor. I will make a claim with the insurance company at this point.
I am sure the out drive is torn up also.
