And this is why....

Yeah, there's a ton of videos from that Haulover inlet with some really stupid people. It's almost like they're doing it on purpose, as kind of a challenge.

At least two boats scream on by without stopping to render assistance. What's that all about?

Looks like a rental...

Would a rental company allow them to overload like that? That's crazy!

My earliest boating experiences were renting runabouts in sunny isles / haulover area in the 70’s - the places we rented from had only two rules - stay away from the inlet and ocean, and pay for any prop damage. Hard to believe if they rented that boat, they were allowed to be heading out.

I think the reason they did not render assistance is the lack of panic from the boaters....they weren't screaming for help.
While it may have been overloaded, the boat seemed like a good one, didn't sink, motor kept going, if they were savvy, started bailing and pumping, maybe beach it, they could have handled the situation.
I wonder what the outcome was to the boat. Glad everyone was safe.

So, once it is rented how would a rental company keep them from going somewhere else, picking up a load of people and head out of the inlet?
DUH!!!!
Rental companies get their money up front!!
