I've heard of it but never been there. I read the article this morning and it is sad but the way waterfront real estate I'm not surprised. "They're not making anymore land" was a quote I read somewhere. Don, you probably remember Copiague Harbor before they built it on marsh lands. The Westin boatyard will probably go the same route.

Rob..... I don't remember the marsh lands...I've only been out here 15 years....but heard alot of the stories. It may be like Hidden Harbor Marina.....one day a marina next day all waterfront condo's. So sad.
Hidden Harbor condos are just being built after the land sitting there pretty much vacant except for a demo building for nearly 5 years. Must have seen a cash flow from somewhere to start building again. Thank goodness for LaSala's yard.
Your right Gerry.....from what I heard he was only building units as they sold.....now phase one is complete and phase two is started. Wonder if LaSala's will ever fall pray ?
We looked at Hidden Harbor when they first started building.....no bargain there. Didn't think it was worth anywhere what they were asking and taxes still high.
I kept my boat there in the winter. JIm, Reno and all the guys were great. They'd work with you no matter what and were extremely helpful. They truly were one of the last old time, neighborhood marinas. I will miss them very much.
The guy who owns the Sayville ferry bought it. He says he will continue to run it as a marina under the Westins name, but we know how that usually goes.
