Can I get a WTF??????

You had your Weekend last week. Time to block the boats for winter now.

This is killing me...I've been soliciting for a couple of weeks to launch my boat on May 8th...it's the only day I have to myself, argh!

You guys are so negative. There is a chance of thunderstorms - it's not a washout!

Have faith, Bob is in charge...

Not to high jack but I couldnt' resist, I grew up playing in the bricks on the beach where the marina is now. I lived literally on the other side of the tracks on Jackson Drive. My father Charlie Eccher ran the SP Daycamp for so long they finally had to name it after him (under the new bridge). Anyway I just wanted to introduce myself and say high. I now live in Park City, UT and boat at Lake Powell (Carver 350 Mariner). Last year I stopped by your marina and checked out the Marina and probably saw some of your boats. I lived on the Hudson for 18 years and then spent 4 years at West Point graduating in 1982. The old joke at the Academy was the Hudson is an ******* and West Point is 50 miles up it. Hey i love the Hudson.

We spent a few years at the camp under the bridge. Spent many days and nights at grand parents house down by sea wall. Im trying to remember the name of the bar that was on water. It burned down one night Im guessing early 60's, Was your family connected to it. Name sounds familiar...

My Uncle Aldo may have owned a bar in Grassy Point and it would have been in the early 60's. I was born in 1959 but I remember my Dad mentioning the bar one time. My Dad Charlie (still living on Jackson Drive) is a long time Stony Point resident and like I said, he ran the Stony Point Day Camp for 50 years.

Ok..Knew the name sounded familiar...Do you have a sister Dianne...My wife went to school with her...

And back on target...They said it was going to rain Sunday and it turned out to be one of the best. If only I could get paid for being wrong...

I think the bar facing the seawall was Danny Boys. I moved to Stony Point in 1974 and it was open then. I think it was open until the early 80s. I remember reading in the Journal News the trouble the owner had when he brought Philippine money to the bank. It came from the crew on the gypsum ships who would walk over from the dock.

Dianne is my cousin, one of Aldo's daughters. (Aldo is my Dad's brother). Again apologize for the hijack but I was excited to see all the Stony Pointers on this board.

As for the weather I mentioned in another thread that I was planning on launching this weekend so you can expect rain. I'm will be ready tomorrow morning I just need to change the zincs and second coat on paint on platform hardware and I'm good to go. Sadly I would be happy on my boat in my slip in the rain. anything to be in the water.

Years back there used to be Rays (thats on the sea wall), that became Danny Boys if I remember right. The Parott Bay used to be Brophys. The bar Im thinking of was across the street were the park is now. It burned down one night in late 50's early 60's...

cjeccher, next time your in the area let us know....

I had to take a 2nd look to make sure I was visiting HRCC and not LICC.

What's with all the WTF's? They never really seemed to fit in this forum.

When it comes to rainy weekends the WTF's just seem to keep coming Pete.

We always thought them Pete, just never wrote them...

Saturday will be nice at least until 2. I have to work in the morning. You're welcome. That is all.

I think it started to rain today for a few minute today when they but my boat in the slings. Must of thought I was going in because it stop raining when the decision to launch tomorrow was made.
First thing in the morning I splash, I drilled a lot of holes in the boat I hope she still floats. LOL I can't wait to be in my slip, Home sweet home.
