I have been having some trouble getting proper revs and power from my 2000 7.4 MPI - I can only get to about 3800 rpm and have to work the throttle to keep it up there. I recently was able to get the codes from the ECU and got the following:
Code 12 - system functioning properly (this is good)
Code 14 - Coolant temperature sensor (CTS) low temp. - Is this something that could cause power loss? - I would think I can just remove and replace, right?
Code 44 - Knock Sensor (KS) No Knock Detected - again this is good right? I don't want a knock detected do I... and does this mean that it is not functioning properly - also remove and replace?
Also - once I change these parts... how can I clear the trouble codes from the computer.
If anyone can help me out with this I would greatly appreciate it.
Brian
