My boat came with some underwater lights. They mounted on the transom and a small wire directly behind the light passed thru a hole in the transom. They were LED, round, made out of stainless steel with a glass lense. The problem is they were all blown. When I removed them I saw what had happened, the stainless is two parts and they were pressed in place. Over time the seal had failed, water got in and froze. Bang, lenses busted, verything corroded and worthless.

In looking for replacements, these same lights were $275/per. And I already know they were junk. Everything else was more expensive.

So after some research I found coastal night lights by AllmarineLED. Turns out they are made by a guy who started his own little small business. I think he puts them together and they are only sold on his website.

They are LED, made of plastic. They are $99 bucks a piece. I just got 4 in the mail and they seem reasonably well put together. If they work it will be great. And I figured since I already have the wiring in place I'd give it a try. If they stink, I'm taking them off, puttying up the holes and calling it a day.

Just currious if anyone here has used them. I'll post how I make out but I like the small business spirit of this guy. And he's been quick to respond to emails and shipped right away.

I have installed both the spreader lights and the underwaters. Been close to 2 years and still working great. Chris is a good guy and has great service. Highly recommended.

I used Briter Innovations for my 4 blue through hull lights. 3 out of 4 completely failed in less than a year. I contacted the manufacture and they had told me there was a recall on my lights and 2 upgrades. They made good and actually sent me 6 to help offset the labor costs for the haul out. I put the new ones in the beginning of this season. They are twice as bright and hopefully they will hold up. For my spreaders I used Lumatec's they have worked flawless for 2 seasons twice as bright as the old Halogens and only draw 1.8 amps each vs. 14 amps on my old Halogens. As for interior LED lighting nothing beats IMTRA I have been using IMTRA fixtures with LEDs for 4-5 seasons and not a single failure. I recently replaced or upgraded to the 2 color blue/white in the Salon/Galley accent lighting but the original whites LEDs were working as good as the day I put them in. However the upgraded lights are higher intensity something that wasn't available when I started my all LED lighting conversion. My navigation lights are all Perko 2NM fixtures and they have been installed for 5 seasons and still going strong.

Kerry and Billy,

Thanks for the feedback! Kerry, great to hear. Putting them on my boat this weekend. Tested them out and all worked perfectly and are very bright. If all goes well I may replace may halogen spreader lights with his as well.

Billy, mine were the briter innovations. Had I known about the recall I might have sent them the corroded balls of rust and broken glass that were the lights I removed from my transom. But I was not the original owner/installer and had no idea when they were put on. Now they are in the trash.

I was looking for something to put on my boat, gald they worked for you. I ordered the spreader and the dual underwater light for mine, cant wait to try them out!
