Anyone Thinking about

I have thought about it. I even had this type of discussion with rutherigs last time we had a close encounter. Six years ago I think. He said 99 percent of the yards on the island couldn't handle a mass haul out like they do down south. Every slip is full so he could only have 1 or 2 boats waiting to be hauled. The rest would be idling in the river. Not enough staff to do more than a couple an hour. And finally he said no place to put em. Most yards aren't set up yet.

Just curious..do you think if all you guys called Anchorage right now that they could accomodate you? Until right this second I would never have thought to ask a marina if they have a plan for a mass haul out. I guess that would be a good question to ask.

If things get hairy I will just tie her off in the middle of the canal and pray for the best.

Since my insurance covers me up to $1,000.00 per storm, I think they would want to jump on that, I will ask tomorrow morning then let you know.

5pm forecast for Lindenhurst:

Friday: Tropical storm conditions possible. Showers likely, mainly after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 83. Northeast wind 6 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Friday Night: Tropical storm conditions possible. Showers likely, mainly before midnight. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 70. North wind 18 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

I realize there's still a risk it can turn our way, but we rake leaves in the fall in more wind than this. A boat in a marina on the north side of the bay is not at much risk from what are now mainly NE then N winds. The forecast looks way better compared to this morning.

No, but I did pull all the outdoor furniture and hanging plants in. Will go check Shinnecock Inlet tomorrow. Should be a good show on outgoing.

Hey Robski,
