Went today, I would say about 150 boats there.
Was well organized, though, I think they needed more anchors.
They tried to do it in a U shape but that meant some boats had bow anchors and some needed sterns.
I volunteered my stern since it was gonna get me rafted quickly.
My stern is a fortress fx-16.
Let me tell you, that is hands down the best anchor. All the danforths broke under the weight and wind.
My fortress was holding alot of boats at one point.
Though I was not too happy with the pressure on my stern cleat!
At the end of the day, I had to drive over anchor to break it free, that thing was stuck good!
I gotta get a fortress for the bow, they are great anchors!
All went well, I had 9 people on the boat, so plenty of crew!
Well went well till end of the day, we went to a friends house down a canal at low tide.
Coming out of his canal I must of hit a submerged log or cinder block at the entrance in 3.5 feet of water.
Felt vibration and limped home.
Guess I dinged a prop! Oh well, part of boating!
Trying to decide which route to go to repair, diver or haul, I lean towards haul!
Note to self, don't go down friend's canal's at low tide even if they say there is a plenty of water!
Oh canal is the west side of Indian Island on Lindenhurst! Watch the entrance, there is something there at at low tide it must stick up!
