Atlantic City

Sorry, that's Fine. I just didn't know who was an Andy? I'm glad too since changing all my paperwork would have been a real chore.

FYI

Right now it looks like we will be planning for August 2-5.

In the past the cancellation policy has been something like a 48 hr notice but during the week not an issue, weekends however they get pretty full so they may hold you to the first night. That wekend you are planning is peak season so I would make the reservation soon to GTY your slip.

Walter

Rob........ I guess me & you are old wood ..............:)

Not sure I can get off from new job, but if I can I will go.

I just booked the dates of August 9,10 and 11.

They were booked solid the weekend before.

Unfortunately, work and family stuff gave us few options for availability. Anyone wishing to join us is more than welcome but I would book a reservation soon. It seems to be a popular destination.

danno, I know Kammerman's surely can't compare to Farley/Trump Marina, but you have to admit, $4 bucks a foot is steep. I guess it's not bad if you get lucky in the casino. Some of the members on here I'm sure would find a not so upscale facility adequate. There also is a Marina at Gardners Basin, just across from the CG station, on the port side. Limited transient slips, but two restaurants and a The Ocean Life Center Aquarium and some other small shops. You really have to call ahead on that one, (609)348-2880
I live in the area and have been boating here for many years, that's the reason for the detailed info. Farley/Trump (609)441-8482 and remember VHF 65A, they might not answer on 16 or 9.

Silverbullet well put and I do not disagree. I just remember although the marina is just across the bay from Trump the area the marina is located in was not so nice after dark and out of the way from the AC nightlife/transportation- now this is from memory of what it was like 5 years ago things do change. Gardiners basin was also not so nice either but last year we went over for brunch(by boat) and they really fixed it up with the resturants and bars and newer docks - food was very good.

Does Kammermans have that many transient slips? It always looked like they had limited space and mostly fishing boats tied up.

And yes Farley does answer on 65A. Also, last year after you stayed 5 nights during the season your 6th was free. Not sure if they are doing that this season but in seasons past they always had some sort of frequent recognition program.

Danno, Farley/Trump ought to throw in a free night after you pay for 5 at $4.00 ft. Kammerman's has more slips than what you see. They have a long bulkhead, slips past there and right before their main dock they have 4 more with a floating dock. Call and find out before you come down. The whole neighborhood has been cleaned up, now it's pricey housing, it sure wasn't before. Something to be said for progress. The only problem is in case you have a problem, there are no boatyards with a lift available real close by. The local SeaTow can help out though, VHF 16 or (609)266-1984. In fact there's a SeaTow boat right next to Kammerman's, say hi to Capt. Eddie, he's always ready to help and can fix damn near anything, at least to get you going. Be nice to him, he's a good guy and usually gets it working, nice tips make him smile and he never charges enough.

Wow thats good to know! thanks for the update. Just looked at the area on Google earth and I can see what you mean.

I don't know if there are any others interested in making this trip for these days but I am all set to go on 8/9 leaving from Glen Cove, down the East River and out under the Verrazano Br. My friend will be leaving from BayShore/FI inlet. We will try to meet up on the way.

If anyone is interested in joining us, please do. If you call Farley, speak to Dee. Bill is new. Our two boats are Destiny and Perfect Timing.

Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend.
