I'm thinking of making the trip from Long Island to Atlantic City for an extended weekend this summer. Is the Farley State Marina the preferred place to stay?

Thanks

I'm also going to do that trip. I have not set a date yet? I'll be starting from Staten Island.

I stay at Farley State Marina a few times every season. They are on the expensive side when compared to other marinas, but they do run specials. I don't remember the details (the admiral handles that) but they have stay 3 get the 4th night free and discounted rates for weekdays and non holidays. This year, I believe they are starting to charge for electric. But you get to use the roof top pool and excercise room at Trump Hotel.

The marina is well run, clean floating docks, clean facilities and close to all that AC has to offer. The Jitney will take you into town for a $1.50 where you can visit other hotels, the ocean or the new block of outlet stores so the admiral can shop. Of course there is gambling and shows at the Hotels. There is the outside Dock for a good afternoon lunch or nighlife cocktails and music. Trump marina is right at your doorstep. Harrahs is about a half mile walk and you can also now walk to the Borgata on the newly finished trail which is well lit (about a mile and a half walk...so you can walk off your buffet).

For a great greasy spoon breakfast, take the dink accross the harbor to the Gilcrest dinner.....

Anymore questions, just ask.

Does anyo9ne know the cheapest place to buy gas near AC is? I found Chestnut Neck Boat Yard on the tool I have been posting around, but is there anythign else?

Any money you would save by going to Chesnut Neck would be offset by the fuel used getting there.

I would just fill up in AC.

When you stay at Farley State Marina, tell the fuel dock that you are a guest (have your paper work) and they will give you a free pump out and 10% off the fuel....they have been doing that for the last few years...I hope they continue this year....if not, Kammermans marina accross the harbor offers $0.10 off a gallon if you are BoatUS member.
