Heading down to Atlantic City next week.

I'm planning to run the ocean after meeting up with another boat off Long Branch. Is there anything I should know about Absecon Inlet that is not obvious from the charts?

Thanks!

After passing Barnegat Inlet, you should run to "LE" Little Egg Inlet, from there to Absecon Inlet "G-1". Then it's straight line in, head for the bridge you won't be going under! When you get to the G+R junction buoy for Clam Creek "CC", leave it to Stbd. and you'll see two red nuns to port, also leave them to Stbd. You'll pass the AC CG station(Stbd), and see Trump(Farley)Marina. They're on VHF-65A . On your port side between the two red nuns, you also can go into Gardners Basin. Floating docks with two restaurants, limited transient dockage, an aquarium and other fun stuff. Free docking there is on first come basis. It gets crowded on weekend afternoons. Kammerman's Marina is on your port side just past the CG station. They have some transient dockage also. It's the busy boating season here. Call ahead if you can. Trump/Farley(609)441-8482, Kammerman's(609)348-8418, Gardners Basin(609)348-2880ext.12(Trish) Fuel, gas/diesel, either Trump(Farley)or Kammerman's.

Thanks.

We have reservations at Trump/Farley so we are all set.

I tried to get a reservation for Farley's this weekend and they are booked. They are booked the following weekend also.

The only other advise I would give, is to make sure you stay offshore about 2 miles as you ride the coast from Barnegat to Little Egg Inlet. There is plenty of shoaling as you approach LE inlet. At low tide you will see the breakers.

The weather forcast is great for the upcoming weekend. Enjoy!!!!

He should have no trouble from Barnegat to Little Egg "LE" When you run the line from Barnegat to "LE" it'll put you out far enough. You are right, you can't just run the LBI coastline. The old Beach Haven Inlet and the shoals past it will get you into trouble. As a matter of fact as we're on here a 60ft Wooden boat is grounded on those shoals.
