Anyone know what non-resident rates are at Atlantique and anything else I should be aware of there? I've only gone off season when no one was around. Looking for a place to take some friends for the day tomorrow. First choice would be Sailor's Haven but with the limited number of slips there not sure that will work out.

It's not bad. It is fixed fee based on slip a b or c.
Then they add on electric.
It's about $80 for our size boat.
I am also looking for someplace to go tomorrow.
Let me know if they have slips but with the holiday it may be tough.
 
Thanks Dave. I'm guessing a lot of people who were around for the 3 day weekend will probably be heading out tomorrow morning, maybe places will fill back up with people doing day trips, we'll see. I'll let you know what I end up doing.
 
We were at Sailor's Haven today and only about 1/2 the marina was full. there was plenty of space there when we left at 3:00.

So....what did you wind up doing? Did you get in at Sailor's Haven or go somewhere else?

I ended up at Atlantique for the afternoon, there were plenty of slips. I called Sailor's Haven and asked about slips and they said the marina was half empty, so no issues. I asked then how the channel was after the winter and the advice I got was "you should probably come at high tide, although the ferry has been okay". My guests showed up much later than we had planned so as it was it was much later in the tide cycle then I wanted to be and was churning mud going out of my canal, didn't want to take any chances if it was shallow by Sailor's Haven. Headed to Atlantique and had a nice afternoon, left just before sunset. BTW, it was $108 for an 'A' slip with power.

$108, wow, they are more than Watch Hill now.
Nice you got it though and could hit the beach.
We took a ride and wind picked up right after that.
 
Just came across my receipt. Non-resident rates are $100 on the weekend for 15'+ slip (A), and $85 for B slip (11'-15' wide). Electric was another $8. Residents are only $50 (B) or $60 (A).
 
It's not bad if they let you stay the weekend.
Not sure if they still enforce the throw out a non resident for a resident rule.
 
I read all the rules on the back and don't see anything about throwing out non-residents. I figure it's an option for the month of June before I move the boat to Montauk and most likely won't fill up and be an issue before then.

I remember in the past trying to get in there during the week and it being full and hearing a lot of people left boats there during the summer. The rules now state boats cannot be left unattended overnight and if so you will have to pay a $100 surcharge and will be banned from the marina for the rest of the season. I wonder if they enforce that?
 
Its always been a rule not to leave a boat unattended for the night. Enforcement is different issue. There was a time when you could stay for 17 days straight and then you had to leave for 1 night. There was one guy a few years back that would stay for 17 days, anchor out 1 night then come back for another 17 days. He did this all summer.Maybe spent 5 nights on the hook all summer. May,June,September and part of October he just paid for the weekends. I dont think he had a slip on the mainland. He glommed prime slips all summer, but he was following the rules.

Now you can only stay for 12 days and you have to skip the following weekend after you leave.Last year they were telling people they had to leave by 11 a.m. Friday morning.

That seems to be a problem in a lot of places.
 
There just isn't enough investment in boating facilities. Take the Robert Moses dockage. A nicely situated pair of marinas accessible to the ocean by boat, foot and car that would get plenty of use if electric and water were available for overnighting. The big money was spent in revitalizing the slips and surrounding area. I don't think that adding utilities would be that great an expense. Given that it is a state facility, there would be no issue with town or county ownership.
 
Unfortunately, the state government is also populated by the same enviro nuts as the federal level that will not electrify the day slips at Watch Hill because that would increase the "carbon footprint".
 
I don't want them to add water and electric to Robert moses. I love going there every weekend and having no one there except maybe 3 other boats memorial weekend.
 
I called Atlantique late yesterday asking what the slip situation was. I was told they make a daily decision in the morning on whether or not non-residents would be allowed in. They aren't there until 10:30 though to make that call and let you know. That didn't work out well with the tides today if I needed to go somewhere else so thanks to info from Rob I knew there was room at Watch Hill and headed there instead.
