back fire

hi, i have a 1988 350 chevy small block. when I go 3000 rpm's or faster it back fires through the carburator. it makes a popcorn sound kind of pop. I did a compression test and found that on cylinder # 1 i have zero pressure. cylinder # 2 i have 80 pounds of pressure. all other cylinders have normal pressure. Can you tell me what the cause can be? Thanks. Mike
