We just got back from a little two day trip to the Channel Islands off of the California coast. We went out to Anacapa Island on thurs and fri. We came back both nights as I have not talked my wife into anchoring out over night in the big ocean. It was beautiful out at the island both days. The water is so blue! I could have stayed for days but I was on the boat so it didn't matter if I stayed or not.
Trip out on thurs was a bit rough. Took alot of spray over the top. The way back was with the wind so not to bad. Friday turned out to be less wind but choppy conditions which made it interesting driving. The Regal handled it well as usual.
I have posted a couple of pictures. Hope you all enjoy. I enjoy seeing all or yours from areas that I don't get to boat in.

The dogs wanted to go ashore and I couldn't keep them out of the dingy. The ranger that stopped by for a chat reminded us that dogs are not allowed on the islands.

Very nice photos Patrick. Thanks for sharing them. It seems to be a very nice spot.

Great shots Patrick! When I was about 11, my step father and I used to go out to Santa Cruz and Anacapa in his 16 foot Zodiac to go fishing. It had a 40Hp Merc on it and would make the trek fairly quickly...thinking back on that I don't think I would allow my kids to do the same... I think with my new (new to me) 242 I would be willing to take my kids out to the Islands. How big of swell was it that day? What is the roughest water you've been in off coast in Southern California?

Hi Jeff,

Have a look on Google Earth....just in front of Santa Monica...near Los Angeles....the first very small islands.
