Anyone finalize any more summer cruise plans?

We're scheduled right now for:

Mystic June 26-29
Milford July 20-21 for Lobster Fest
Block Aug 27-31
Montauk Aug 31- Sep 3 (Labor Day WE)

Hangin loose to see what else comes up.
 
This is our current vacation trip plans.

7/4-7/5 Port Jeff
7/6-7/10 Block Island
7/11-7/12 Nantucket Boat Basin
7/13-7/15 Hyannis Marina Cape Cod
7/16-7/18 Marthas Vineyard
7/19-7/21 Montauk Yacht Club
7/21-7/22 Oyster Bay

Haven't scheduled any other weekend trips yet but planing on some 4 day weekends in June and August.
 
5/1 to 6/22 - Weekends in Watch Hill, Sailors Haven, Garbage Cove, Hemlock Cove, etc.
6/23 - 6/25 - Essex Island Marina
6/26 - 6/28 - Mystic River Marina
6/29 - 7/1 - Sag Harbor
7/2 - 7/4 - Westhampton Beach
7/7 - 10/31 - Weekends in Watch Hill, Sailors Haven, Garbage Cove, Hemlock Cove, etc.

We usually do local weekends as the weather looks nice. Usually Watch Hill but hope to do some over-nighters in the cove this year to save some bucks!

Any South Shore boaters interested in planning a overnighter in Hemlock?
 
Dave..... did you get confirmed for West Hampton ??? We'll be there also from 7/3 thru 7/6. We plan to do Cedar Beach ....Watch Hill...Sailors....G/C....and Hemlock alot this season.....I only work about 6 or 7 days the month of July and the same for August....and Debs off all summer.

Can you get into Cedar ??? when are you thinking of Hemlock ??
 
I can't get into Cedar, which I think is BS, cause I pay Town of Babylon Taxes on my slip.
Perhaps I will try again, but it goes by where the boat is registered.

I just mailed in my Westhampton deposit.
 
You can go to Cedar....but you would have to pay non-resident rates......and that will suck.
If you have a deed for your slip at the Anchorage.....you cant register it in the town of Babylon ????
 
I probably could, but that would be hassle as it is registered at my home right now.
Plus I can't get mail at the slip!
 
Maybe a P.O. box in the Lindenhurst Post Office ????
 
I think they are onto that, you can't use a PO box.
They anyone could do that.
You have to show your tax bill and your registration.
 
I would love to meet up with some people this summer to hang out and get to know my way around the bay.
Please is there anyway i could be informed about trips this sumer

Bunch of us are heading on that trip I mentioned on 6/23 and then meeting up at Westhampton.
Your welcome to join us. Other trips like weekend trips, we usually plan last minute.
If weather looks good and can get out of work at a decent hour on Friday, I usually head to watch hill.
 
How can we use Don's address?
I think we need to protest the town.
One of the lines items on my tax bill is a parks fee........how do I benefit from that?
I even pay Babylon town school tax!
 
rommer - great itinerary. Not much to do in Hyannis but the marina is nice and they have a good restaurant on site. There is a place fairly close by where you can rent jet skis and the marina will loan you a car.

We're also thinking of trip up the Hudson, perhaps if there is a raftup planned we'll make it then.
 
At this point the only tentative plans I have is a trip to Essex and Montauk July 14-22. I was originally going to do a Mystic stop in there but another friend may be at Montauk with his boat at the same time so I think I'm going to skip Mystic since we were there a couple years ago and allow more time to fish out of Montauk.

I also usually do a fishing club trip to Montauk in August, but the dates may change this year. Depending on the timing I may combine that with a trip to Block Island.

I want to leave most of August open for tuna fishing and Watch Hill trips this year. I didn't do enough of either last season. I think we're also going to spend Memorial Day weekend at Watch Hill if the weather is decent. 2 June weekends are usually booked with fishing tournaments, but I haven't seen the dates yet.

I'm also thinking about an early season trip (probably in May) to Liberty Landing to stay on the boat and take the ferry to work for a week, but I'll have to see how that fits in with other plans and if the weather is nice enough to make it worthwhile.

Hi All: Would love to get my feet wet (no pun intended0 by doing some local raft up action at Hemlock Cove. I am really wet behind the ears (again no pun) so I am really new at this boat thing but I bought a 40 foot Sea Ray so I could some overnite stuff. I see that you all have quite a season planned already. I am more of a spur of the moment guy but I guess somethings just must be planned so that you can get in. I heard that at Watch Hill which I have never been to, has only a few slips that take 14' beams like my boat and that you have to get there by Wed in the summers if you want a spot for the weekend. Anyway, would be interested in local overnite stuff with some experienced boaters that I could have some fun with and learn from.

Usually as long as it's not a holiday weekend if you get to Watch Hill by Thursday night you're okay. Actually 3 years ago I bought a boat with a 14'5" beam and the first season I had no problems getting in even on Friday evening. Then it seemed like everyone started moving up and all of a sudden even on a Friday morning I couldn't get in. They are supposed to be reconfiguring some of the smaller slips for large beams for the upcoming season, hopefully that will happen (or already has) and the situation will be improved.

Sometimes spur of the moment is the best thing. I actually felt like maybe I had too many weekends planned ahead of time last year and it didn't give me enough flexibility to do things based on the conditions - head out tuna fishing when the bite was right, go to the beach on a nice hot day... This year I'm leaving the whole month of August open for last minute weekend trips depending on what's going on.

Did I mention I was really green at this boating thing? I'm not even sure that if I try to anchor in a spot I will be able to do it. Hey, may not know s**t but I own a boat!!!

OK, I'm not rafting up next to you then ;)

The name of my boat is 'Finseeker', it's a 38 Blackfin. It's actually right across the canal from SS3 at the Anchorage right now. During the season the boat is at my house.

Actually I'd like to do more Hemlock overnights this year, but Watch Hill is easier with the dog. He's 10 years old but fairly new to boating, and I just can't see getting him on the dinghy to go to shore to take care of business. And our friend who would sometimes watch him for an overnight like that is moving next month. We're going to have to see what we can work out.
