btw, will vinegar help clear deposits over time or once hoses and fittings get crusty it's just too late? I wonder if it's worth flushing a cup every couple days for a while?

I whole-heartedly agree that the lifespan of duckbills can be a lot longer than people think.

The set in my aft system is original: now over 12 years old!!! The pump runs faithfully for 40 seconds with every flush and hold that vacuum until the next flush. (forgive any typos, as I'm knocking on wood with one hand and typing with the other)

I send vinegar through on a regular basis, avoid caustic chemicals and use plenty of water. So far, so good.
