Hi all.
My old username was Yanmar, now Nitebell.
After connect an amplifier to give the rear speakers a little bump, I found everything worked and sounded great. The second time I checked her out the left speaker was dead. Just knowing it was something I had done, I tore everything down and began to isolate the problem. As soon as I touched the connector going into the amp input the right speaker kicked in and all was well. Examined the connector and worked it around to make sure it was going to last and the very next time I took her out the left speaker was dead. The next time I tore her down, I got serious. This time I moved around the connectors on the receiver side and the right side cut out once more. Pulled the unit out and opened it up to fine bad solder joints on the ckt board. All is well in happy town!

Welcome back Paul. How many hours are you up to?

Thanks Dan
I have been sort of dead in the water since May. My new MASE generator failed after 3 hours and now it's tied up in legal matters. MASE left my boat a wreck after removing the generator for warranty repair and I haven't seen the generator yet. Once this battle is over, I will explain to all what happened but in the meantime stay as far away from MASE generators as you can. Did you get a new boat? Paul

Hi Paul,

Sorry to hear about your new gen. Hope you get it settled. No, I still am enjoying my 2765.

Back on the water. The gen set is back in to the tune of $2000 for a $3500 generator. I won't go into details, way too much heartbreak to go into. I battled with Mase, got riped off by lawyers and figured It was a loosing battle. The lesson for me is that you can't win. I tried all available resources and the only one that actually did anything was Florida Dept of agriculture. The did get Mase to talk with me but that was it, I took the blow on the chin.
on another subject:
Just to advise other 2665'ers equipped with a similar Yanmar motor I developed a leak in the power steering fluid exchanger/cooler. It started with a little oil on the water at the transom just after I started the Yanmar up and shortly after, a complete loss of power steering. I had it replaced with a Mercruiser model at 1/3rd the price. This is just a heads up to other Yanmar owners that might develop the same problem. Happy Boating, if you can afford it! Paul
