<Bahama Triangle>
... or was that "Bermuda". Sure seems like "Bahama".

I haven't been in ages, but I do enjoy staying up on "Whaz happnnn" and living vicariously through the trips of others.

---

Anyone been? Going? There? After all, the himmicane season appears to have not yet begun,so I would have expected a bit of action.

Tell us what is going on... Inquiring mimes signal their interest.

We're in for the Winter again. Hopefully we'll take 'er down to the Exumas this year. The plan is to leave from Little Harbour and arrive at Royal Island for an anchor and then move on to Spanish Wells for fuel or a visit. Perhaps as far as Georgetown. Not sure. The S.O. says she'll live on the hook in Little Harbour for weeks waiting for a window so it seems at this point we are good to go.
Hopefully you know the blog address by now. If someone comes up with a cheap pan tilt and zoom web cam that uploads photos once a minute I can be swayed to bring it along :D. So far all I've found is about 300 (gotta be wifi so I can mount it anywhere there is 12v).

The blog has all of our garmin data in google earth format so you can see what we've done.

Royal Island is one of my favorite anchorages in the Bahamas. With any luck the development being built there will go bust. And it will stay a great quiet get away from it all spot.

There used to be a Barracuda that would hang out under your boat that you could hand feed. It would even stick it's head out of the water to take a piece of fish out of your hand.

I kept a pair of swim fins I had worn while diving around Grand Bahama ( eons ago... ). A nice little barracuda came by and "tasted" my left fin, leaving tooth marks. He decided that It ( and I ) tasted nasty and vanished. But I sure made a nice conversation piece!

We'll see if we make it down there Bill. We need a good calm window late December to January to run from Little Harbour down. But that is the goal this year.

Heading back to the States after 4 months of cruising. Flying the Hatchet Bay Yacht Club burgee. (The club itself burned down years ago.)

We were in the Abacos this past May and hope to be back in 2010. We might be taking another boat with us on the next trip, and if so, we'll stick to the Abacos. But if not, we might at least consider seeing some of the Exumas (only have a month somewhat limits what we can do). I'm happy we've been able to see the Abacos twice now, but that water sure has ruined swimming in the Chesapeake for us.

Well that sure got the blood flowing....pictures by others in places I have been...how cool is that.
I started packing for the trip south in 3 weeks....I find it easier to send boxes UPS to Frt Laud. and ship over rather than loading suitcases with stuff the airlines wont take and charge more.
Great boats, lobster, beaches and the school is the yellow building on the left of the Gregorytown picture. How cool is that for school real estate??
I will seek out that Royal Island cove....how come it is so calm??? I have had a bad time with rougher than normal seas on my boating trips so I am HOPING for some calm seas.
Thanks again for sharing
Bahama Bob

I like the way you guys "winterize"!

Keep it coming. Gentle breezes and smooth seas to all of ya.

Thank you Bill (Radio)! We'll take you up on that. Capt. Bill, nice ride. A GB MY. Probably lotso room in there. Kurt, bars overlooking water with pools is a recurrent theme with us.

Dan,

The woman in the cowboy hat at Nippers, is she a regular or something? I'm pretty sure she was there
in May (unfortunately, wearing less, but dancing more). I'll have to do a screen capture from a video on my phone...

Perhaps she is Kurt. Once she got up on that table it was like she was an erobics instructor that doesn't stop! I believe she passed out and was carried away. But she was on that table dancing the whole time the music played. Impressive. Those Frozen Nippers must have rocket fuel in them.
