From "Bahamas Chatter", I heard that the Bahamian Government will be confiscating guns on pleasure craft when checking in and returning them upon departure.

Has anyone confirmed this yet?

Secondly, I would be curious how they will be able to inventory and properly return them?

Please don't make this a debate on whether or not to carry a gun.

Thanks

Ken

The only time I've heard of them doing this is with what they deem to be a military or assault type weapon. i.e. AK-47 or M-16. something like that.

I always carry both a rifle and pistol when in the Bahamas, report them on my entry documents and have never even been questioned about it.

But, I suppose something new could be going on.

I am in Eleuthera right now, and all I've heard is they are holding a gun amnesty if locals turn in illegal guns. But I'll ask around about what you are talking about.
