Wondering if anyone goes to this. We've gone to the AC Boat Show for the past 3 years, but this year our schedule doesn't permit the winter fix. Is this a worthwhile trip from PA for this upcoming weekend?

Geri: The largest boat there is about a 34 thru 38 if lucky. Pretty good representation of the Chesapeake vendors, and I can do it in about 4 hrs. not boat hunting. The vendors are not usually very happy, cause the show goes all week (evenings) during the week and the turn outs aren't very good during those times. I do enjoy it for a winter break, and get my fix of that new Gelcoat smell!!

We usually stop in for a few hours to get our mid-January boat-fix :D They generally ahve some interesting boats and fairly good number of vendors there.

This year we're skipping that one in favor of the Virginia Beach show in early February so we can visit with my inlaws and the dealer from whom we bought our current boat.

Thanks, all. Probably not worth the 2.5 hour drive...too bad it's not bigger/better. The Chesapeake has it all over AC!

Where is it being held? I saw an ad in the Salty Dog but it didn't mention where in Baltimore. I did the Timmonium show last weekend and it too had mainly small boats, but was still a nice break in the winter.

Baltimore Convention Center.

Much better boat selection than Timonium and many more and varied vendors.

Im going to head over some time on Saturday. Walking around, you either get the dealers that jump on you immediately or are standing around upset because there isnt anyone there buying.

Timonium was kinda funny - we were walking around in our custom embroidered jackets with our boat pic so lots of folks left us alone ... have to give kudos to the Proline sales guy though ... he walked right up and said "so, will you be looking to trade her in?"

It was good for a few laughs on a slow night. Like he said, you don't know if you don't try.

I wore my Boatered sweatshirt with the upside down slogan on the back. I must have had five dealers including the Proline guys laughing at that shirt. One Striper salesman pulled me back on the demo boat as I was getting off and said he was only doing what the shirt said.
Think I'll try the Balt. show just for some mid winter diversion.

Would you guys recommend going to this years show specifically for looking at 27-40' express cruisers?
What was the biggest boat there?

Baltimore is definitely good for that size range -I believe the largest is a Rinker 43-foot.
