battery disconnect switch problem

I have a disconnect switch for my inverter but when the switch is in the off position I'm getting 4 volts on the side that should be zero? Is the switch bad? The inverter will not turn on with low voltage but works fine with the switch in the on position.

Hey Rob, Things been OK?

Everything around batteries or switches have to be DRY. You could probably touch one side of a volt meter to the Batt + and the other to any surface and get a reading. Even the battery case.

Hi Charlie,
Things are good, been hibernating. I think it may have been my meter but can't recheck until the rain stops. I was confused because my inverter crapped out last year so I bought a new one and re-installed it changing nothing but was getting 4 volts with the battery switch off. I went to check something else today in the house and the meter was acting weird, turns out the battery was dying. So when it stops raining I'll re-check the switch. Anyway splash is tomorrow rain or shine.

Yeah, abstract current is not uncommon. Just the raining could be the problem.
