The boat fired up fine this morning, and i took it for her fisrt extended trip (8 hrs). 2hrs into the trip i noticed the fishfinder getting weaker and radio as well. I looked at the volts gauge on the dash and it read 0. So i switched to both batteries and things worked fine. a few hours later i noticed the volt gauge starting to read low again. Got to the moring and shut her down and tried to restart immediatly and got nothing. both batts dead. the belt was spinning the alternator. Is there any simple checks i can do (wires and the like) or should i go right for the new alternator. Or if i remove the alternator and take it to someone who knows what they are looking at, can they test it to make sure it is good. Thanks for any ideas.
