Got a 2004 Chaparral 204ssi with a volvo penta 5.0gxi in it.

Recently installed a new stereo headunit and amp. Headunit connected to power via wiring harness and 4-channel amp connected directly to battery. Amp is turned on via remote turn-on wire from headunit.

Anyhow, I got 2 batteries on the boat. I usually have the battery selector switch on battery 1 when I leave the boat. Coincidentally right after I installed this stereo, my voltage would drop dramatically only after a few days.

Before leaving the boat, I make sure everything is turned off including the stereo/headunit, etc.

This past sunday, I was listening on the stereo for about an hour while the boat was on the trailer while cleaning it. Only dropped it to 11 or 12 volts. I came back on Tuesday, and it was completely dead.

Now it did rain all day monday, but I do have the drain plug out. So is it possible the bilge pump drained the battery or could it be something else?

Thanks, Joe
