hello all,
I took my boat out yesterday evening, put ut in the water at 6:20pm tooled up and down the lake for about hour, stopped to swim for about 45 min. tried restarting to find weak battery symptoms. after several attempts enigne started. went back to dock waiting in line to pull boat out, then all of a sudden lost all power. lifted hatch to inspect battery, found the positive cable and terminal laying to the side.
My question is did a faulty battery cause the terminal to come or a faulty electrical system?
The boat had been sitting up for three years before i got it. after all repairs and installing a new battery i noticed the engine was slow to crank, being new to boats wasn't sure if this was abnormal. after cycling the key a few times engine will start.
I've been on the lake four times with same battery, same symptoms, seemingly slow cranking speed.
Where should i start looking for problems?
