Well it is Labor day and things will be shutting down out in the islands. Is the haulout scheduling filling up yet?

Matt, surely you dont stop boating already?? We have always thought that September offered some of the best boating weather on Erie. And the islands are still going strong into October. I usually don't haul the boat until the last few days of October.

We're not planning on taking the boat out for another month and a half or so. Still a lot of good weather.

I'm not giving it up yet either, but aside from one more party at The Bay, I'll probably spend more time at the dock.

Well, it has been a couple of years now since I have had a boat, and I was always at Bay Point. Seems I recall toard the end of September there were clam bakes at a couple of places on Kelleys and then they closed for the season. Aso, the wids change and lake starts to get real choppy. Soon the haul out times started to fill up. Just wondering if it is still the same now.

I'm with SLW. I'll be partying with him at Cedar Point Marina until mid October at least.

Although...where I work, we have a couple of haul outs scheduled for this week and more for next week.

I never come out until mid to late October over in Huron.

From today until Halloween are, in my opinion, the best times for our area. I love the islands when the obnoxious drunks leave and it is calm and peaceful. Fall is awesome for boating, but check the wind forecast as it is easy to see 4-6' like today (fun run though).

Our club (AYC) has it's first haul on 10/8 and that is when I'm coming out. A lot of the sail boats stay in till the 2nd haul on 10/22

Sept 25th for me. Getting bottom soda blasted. The into inside storage for winter, to dry out. Then heading to Lauderdale boat show with list of items needed including bottom paint.

Well I must say that last weekend weather wise was as good as it gets for Ohio this time year. My boat was lifted out before 10am on Saturday and by Sunday afternoon it was shrink wrapped and done. Working the shrink in really warm temps was something new to me. :)
