Mike;

Dockage is about $800 cheaper compared to summer slip / winter land, and you pay by the month. No yearly contract.

No it happened at the Northport Town Dock.

Back in those days I used to travel with my Remington Marine Magnum shotgun, this was the only time when I really thought about taking it out of my boat.

Anyone caught who does not belong on my boat does not walk off. If able they can swim. You gotta be kidding? We Brooklyn born (not naturalized) fellas don't call the cops.

Pete we took a casual look at SC and the personal property tax scared the crap out of us. Given the income tax seemed similar we balked. I realise this is NBR material but how did you rationalize the total tax expense?

Art,
This guy reminds me of Pvt Pyle in Full Metal Jacket, He might have gone ballistic at any moment. We had the gently get him off the boat................ Hence the thought of getting the loaded shotgun.

When I saw him sitting on my boat, I confronted him and told him to "Get the F**k off my boat. He told me that he wanted me to take him for a ride. I yelled at him to "Get the F**K off my boat" several times, while he insisted that I take him for a ride. I then threatened to get the police, who were at the end of the dock in their boat, at which time he got up and left the boat.

My wife then looked in the cooler and a huge steak that she had bought was gone. I then followed him down the dock and demanded that he return the steak. He insisted that he hadn't taken it.

I went to the other end of the dock and got the police who questioned him, and asked me if I wanted to press charges. I told them that as long as they got him out of there, I did not. They escorted him away.

All night, I was worried that he would come back and either board us, or untie our lines. Fortunately, he did neither.

The next day we left.

That was at Champlins? Was he trashed?

No, it was at the Northport town dock. I believe he was high on something, although not drunk.

Dan;

We are aware of the personal property tax, and it is a little crazy for the boat. I know they have recently lowered it but I think it's still around 6%. I don't know what they will value our as, but we also have the ability to keep it registered in NJ for a few more years. Will just have to work thought it.

Watch out we know someone who was found out. He's back up here this summer. He lived on the boat without changing his registration to SC. They are out there looking....

Pete, just tell them you are a Red Sox fan, they will understand...
