I just saw on NBC news that they just found Beavers on long island after 100 years of no beavers!

There have always been Beavers on Long Island.
Quite fashionable too.
And they don't use much cloth.

The article refers to the Beaver and the fact they took a white oak...I have never known of a Beaver to knaw on a hardwood, and white oak is a hardwood...
It is the National symbol of Canada and two US states, namely Oregon and New York have adopted it as the state symbol.

I remember coming to Long Island .....along time ago....just to look for beaver.

Walter told me he seen beaver off of Edison Ave.

From Andy’s NY Times article:
Then again, there are no reports of actual sightings of beavers, which tend to work at night and avoid people.
“It’s possible it could be a hoax,” Mr. Penny said, “but I really doubt someone would go through the trouble. It’s just too difficult.”

I do agree that this is the work of our furry friends which their pelts have been traded long ago and still make woman coats.

But who is taking all the time and effort to cut those strange shapes in farmer’s fields?

Aliens from a far away planet? Could they have come to us and are hungry for East Hampton trees ? I need to ponder this further over my Sunday morning coffee.

A true fun fact: The leading cause of accidental death for a beaver is falling trees.

Great article.

We have plenty of them here in Harwinton CT.

I know Andy is baiting me with this post, hard to resist, but I will pass on this one. :)

Walter

Good boy Walter.........I'm proud of you!

No, I'm here Bruce, and have tried to stay away from this, but I can't resist responding to you. Andy is now afraid, very afraid.

....Times are changing....
We cant be ourselves, we must be like others want us...I am me and always will be...

I don't think the ladies of this forum would of put up such a stink if they truely did not feel uncomfortable about some of the posts. So with that in mind, I don't want to make them feel uncomfortable on this site.
Also, Les has spoke his peace on this and I do not want to be disrespectful to him.

Now if the Beavers Spotted On LI post was in the NBR Men Only Forum"
I would have you in tears, also I think I already covered this subject in another post. :}

Also, I am only human, so if there is to much bait in front of me I may falter and take a bite :)

Walter

Thank you Walter.........I think you're right!

Humm, Andy is going to making his own dinner for a long time.

From the article:

"In the late 1990s, a fatigued beaver was seen just off the Long Island Sound beach in Southold"

From this line down it is men only. Go Walter.

.........Stop baiting Walter.....He is being a good boy........
...One of his postings is still under the radar, and he walking cautiously...
..A posting of this content is like putting a carrot in front of a mule...They both get jumpy..
