I am looking to upgrade to a 25' - 35' weekender. Based on my price range (want to pay cash) of $20,000 - $25,000, my searches of used boats are leading me to boats manufactured in the 1980s, from early to late. Aside from the all important marine survey, are there any particular models out there to look for or avoid? All of my boating is and will be fresh water lake and river cruising.
Any help from personal experience would be greatly appreciated!!!

1. Overnights Fri/Sat/Sun
2. 4 - 6 guests at a time (not necessarily spending the night with us!!!)
3. With no boat payments, maintenance has been considered, however re-powering was not.
4. Trips will be day cruises only, typically returning to my marina or anchoring in a cove close by.
5. Will be kept in water at my marina, so trailoring not an issue
