Any feedback on Belmar as a cruising destination or on Belmar Marina?

I have kept my boat docked at the Belmar Municipal Marina for the past 6 years. The marina is walking distance to Belmar's restaurants and less than 1 mile from the beach. A transient slip will provide you access to the "Captain's Quarters" - which has clean bathrooms, showers and laundry facilities. What other info are you looking for?

Part of the reason I'm there is because we've got a beach house 5 minutes away. Don't get me wrong though, I do like it.

Danno - Belmar.com (I hope it's okay to post a non-commercial link) has great info about the town, the marina and contact info.

Rommer - I don't think you would need my permission for the link - but if you do I give it wholehartedly.

Anyone coming down to Belmar should stop by dock H-24 and say hi....
 
We went there by boat last year. Had a really good time. Transient docs are very nice and at a no wake zone, The staff was friendly as well. The only thing that was bad is expect the morning wakeup call from the Fishing party boats starting up and blowing their horns when they are leaving around 7:30.

The restaurants are good and in walking distance. The beach is not a bad walk and the weekends there is a free Jitney to take you too the beach and around.
 
I am looking forward to checking this place out it sounds great..How long does it take to walk to the beach from the marina???

But...on the bright side, if you want to go out for a 1/2 day of inshore fishing, while the rest of the family is sleeping in, it's right there at your doorstep....also, there are a few good dive boats that leave from the Belmar basin...
 
We did the fishing on Miss Belmar. Was nice to relax and someone else drive as well.

The walk to the beach is about 15-20 minutes.
