Hi,
The prop shaft on my 1986 aplpha one lower unit has a distinct wobble in its rotation. It moves at least a 1/8" total at the nut as it spins around. The boat is at the mechanics now so I can not measure it exactly. My mechanic says it should probably be ok for the boat this season so long as I don't beat on it (he knows I can be tight with the $). I do not want to further hurt the gears (damage may be done when the shaft was bent). Having read the repair manuals, I am pretty sure I am not going to be doing any lower unit work myself. What are peoples thoughts: suck it up and pay for outdrive work, or try limping around on it while keeping an eye on ebay?
Thanks,
Lee
