There is some renovation work being done here resently, I don't know why its taking them so long. We lost Molly Malones but we get back the old Dockside, hopefully the food will be better and the music, cause it was awful before!
 
Dockside is back?
Food was good in the old days, but then it went down hill.
Have never been down there with big boat, used to go with my 34'.
I know it's skinny inside there, but what are the water depths?
Don't recall.
 
I'm not sure what's going on there because they've been in and out of there for a year now. I'm sure the owner would like to get it up and running but not sure if whoever owns it would run it or is looking to rent it out?
 
Wasn't the restaurant once called The Gull or something like that before Dockside ?

Yes, it was called the Gull at one time.
I passed by there a couple of times after getting gas over that way, but never saw any activity. The guy at the gas dock told me that they were supposed to be opening up soon, but that was back in the middle of the summer.

We like Catfish Max over in Seaford too. They fell victim to the storm. The building is gone, but there are trailers on the property for the last two summers making it look like they are going to rebuild, but so far nothing has been happening.
We tried Smuggler Jack's this season. Nice docks, mediocre food, but looks like they are having neighbor problems. Not sure how long they are going to be around.
It would be nice to have a few more choices for waterfront dining by boat between the Wantagh bridges and the Robert Moses.

Yes, it was also called Franks Dockside, they are moving painfully slow...... We need a few more venues, there is slim pickkins!
 
I was in the Gator Blue Bar in East Islip talking to the owner and he said he was going to open up the bar across from Bergen point golf course. There are a lot of issues involved in opening a condemned building especially for a restaurant, so I wouldn't hold my breath. He seemed to really like the location though with the boat slips and all.
Come out to Patchogue River next summer. We have four restaurants on the water and they just reopened On the Waterfront. It's a great weekend destination. Let me know and I'll get you hooked up with a slip.

Agree, Patchogue river has alot of places.
Another place I used to go was Kingstons in Sayville but with my 24'.
I never went with big boat because I remember it being real tight in there with 24' single screw.

Recently I had to go down there to see my metal guy and I walked over.
It's alot roomier than I remembered. I actually laughed at myself.
What seemed scary with my 24' single seems roomy with my 40' IPS!
So I will add this to my list of places.
when we used to go they served you on the boat too.
Docking for about 7 boats depending on size.

Another place we have discussed is Smuggler Jacks but its only for small boats.

The southern most slips are a bit wider, and will probably accommodate you.
It might be worth a ride over there by car just to confirm.
Their food is mediocre at best though, and the service is a bit slow.
