Bergen Point Gas

Anchorage is replacing their tanks so they are not pumping now.
But even if they did, they are off my list.
I save $120 using Bergen.

When going into Bergen gas, stay away from the west side canal wall, very shallow over there.
 
You guys have got my interest now. Too late this season, but if I go to a gas dock next year I'll have to give Bergen Point a shot.
 
Thanks to Walter's tip, I topped off over there on Sunday, for $3.29. Almost make me feel like burning another tank full before I haul. :)
 
Does Bergen Point have 89 octane for that price, or is it 87?
 
89 octane is $3.29 and 93 is $3.49 that was on sunday oct 24th
 
I went by Bergen Point today to check on the prices/grade.
Their price today for 87 octane was 3.29, their price today for 93 octane was 3.49.
I didn't see any 89 octane listed.
The town pumpout station is just south of the gas dock, and was working today.

I didn't get a chance to swing by SS3, but if I recall, they didn't sell 87 octane there this summer. I don't think the Anchorage sold the cheap stuff either.

I'm sure Bergen is still a good deal, but just make sure to compare apples to apples.
 
Most engines today (2002 - 2010 need anymore than 87 octane) Its all that electronic crap. Crusader, 2004 states 87.

Where I live and you, bet they are full of sh-t about it being 89, or 93....
 
Who knows? I was just pointing out that the price for 87 should be compared to the price for 87, not 89 or 93.
 
What do you guys put in your boats? My outboards I put 89 in. However, with my 1990 5.7's I use 87..

Just curious as to what you all use..
 
Babylon Fishing Station was at $3.29 for diesel pretty much all season but I know Hess has gone up recently so I imagine they all have now.
 
Walter, not sure what his gas price was. I may go there this weekend to get some fuel, if I do I'll let you know.

His price is usually pretty reasonable and it's easy to get in and out of there. Nice wide canal (the one east of the Babylon pool and village docks), enough water for my boat, and he has all the bait, ice, and any tackle I need plus he put in a new pumpout a year or two ago. Never had an issue with the fuel there and he put in all new tanks last season also.

I mostly use 89 because that's what is generally available at most places I gas up at on the water, and what Direct Marine Fuel delivers.
87 should be fine, and is probably all those 5.7's need. I don't think they really have high enough compression to need more.
