What is the best soap to use on our boats. Not to happy with what I am using now. Any suggestions.

I have used Ivory, biodegradable, easy on the wax and finish.

I use Simple Green, "Non-toxic, biodegradeable" (though they DO say not to drink the stuff)

I get it in gallons from Home D****.

My boat gets a professional detailing every winter. After that I only wash it with automotive Zip Wax car wash solution. Wet the boat, spray or brush on Zip Wax, thoroughly rinse, then hand dry. Keeps her looking beautiful all season long and into the winter. I don't bother to wash her when it gets cold and rainy......

I've always used Dawn dishwashing liquid.

I've always been told it will strip the wax.

Depends on what you want. Dawn is excellent, but does strip wax.

This year for regular washing I've gone to Starbrite's Sea Safe Boat Wash. Nice clan, leaves the Pro Polish unharmed.

Zip Wax does not strip off the wax. It helpt to protect it while getting the surfaces all nice and clean.

I've been using Kit Car Wash/wax. Doesn't strip the Pro Polish off. I only use harsh cleaners like Dawn and Non Skid Deck cleaner in the spring before any polish goes on. I've also heard good things about Orpine Wash.

Ivory Soap is easy on your hands and does not strip wax. Use just a little and do the boat once a week to stay on top of the dirt.

Any good "soap" products or car wash is ok on the wax, whereas detergents will strip the wax.

Orpine Boat Soap w/wax.

Yep, that's the one for me. I use it on the boat as well as the cars. Does a very good job of getting the dirt off, but leaves the wax. $15 for a bottle, but that does my boat and 3 vehicles for at least a year (one cap-full per wash is all that's needed).
