Best way to cut fiberglass?

I have a simple project I am considering, but it involves some cutting. I have good access and will be cutting straight lines. I do not have to drill a pilot hole as I can start from an "open" end. I have access to virtually any recommended saw and the proper blade is not an issue. All tips and tricks are welcome!
 
Tape the f-glass surface and cut through the tape. It will help reduce chipping.

Use a saw guide. This also will help avoid chipping.

Use a fresh, sharp blade. Select one that states clearly that it is designed for fiberglass.

Learn how to cuss in fluent Swahilli. It will help reduce the frustration.

Wear a dust mask ( minimum ). Breathing f-glass residue can't possibly be good for your lungs.

Wear eye shield. Do not rub your eyes. Rinse them out if needed.

Roto-zip cuts pretty good also. You just have to have steady hands.
 
I alway use a metal cutting blade (fine blade), takes longer but almost no chipping. Tape the cut as they say. I had to get rid of a hot tub one time, used a chain saw.
 
How thick is the glass you need to cut?
Ditto on the fine metal cutting blade. We used to cut 1/2" thick solid f-glass with sabre saws. Not precisely accurate; some sanding is usually required.

Since it will be so simple, I should probably start the project at the end of the season..
 
use a fine cut blade and go slow.

The Swahili dictionary is Bill's recommendation to "G" down the excessive cussing that will probably take place during this "simple" prroject...
 
I'd use a carbide "tile" blade, they do very nicely with fiberglass and don't chip. Also tape the area to prevent scratches.
