Anyone know of anyplace in and around Bethel Island that rents small fishing boats. My boat is still in the shop and we want to come up and enjoy some fall delta fishing. It seems a year or so ago we stayed by the Rusty Porthole and rented an aluminum from the Sugar Barge or somewhere near that. Any of those folks still open. I don't even want to think about my sick Trophy right now.......

Yes, Sugar Barge still has the pontoon and small aluminum boat rentals available.

I just saw them sitting on their trailers yesterday when I put our motorhome back in the storage yard.

If you want to go striper or sturgeon bait fishing, PM me and we can go out in a week or two. I'm itching to get out there and need to dust off the fishing gear. I haven't been out since Jan and am itching to correct that. I've got a couple good leads on some hot spots.

Maybe we need to get an RO fishing trip going for early Oct. I've got enough gear for 4 anglers. The boat will handle 4 fishing comfortably, 6 if we're real friendly. Who's game?
 
I might be interested in tagging along in my boat. I have my own gear. I'd need a fishing license, but I could a daily one since it is so close to the end of the year.

Do you troll or bait fish for striper? If it is just sturgeon, I'll pass.

Thanks for the very nice offer but I have no idea when we can get up that way. My brother comes from LA and we haven't got a date yet. There is not a nicer bunch of folks anywhere as there is on this forum.

Liz,

I now bait fish for stripers since trolling in these waters with a boat this size is not practical. I think it'd be great fun to have several boats rafted up for the fishing day.

I prefer to fish for relaxation and enjoyment, so competitive tournaments don't really appeal to me. I'd prefer to avoid the crowded fishing waters that weekend.

DBH, PM me if you'd like to head out sometime. I commonly go out about every other weekend during the fall/winter. I'll start a new thread to check for interest in an RO Fishing Trip.
