This guy in an Amberjack came flying tru the no wake zone by my marina in Merrick. ( Off Nicks point ) then continued up the canal to where I assume he has a house. Only there did he slow down. I dont get how FING stupid and inconsiderate people can be!!

One thing I have noticed now that it's "off season", is that some of the "bassholes" feel that the no wake zones do not apply to them. I see it all the time in the State Boat Channel by Captree.
 
I know plenty of people will run at speed through the channel, just past blue water out to the bay, but i can't beleive they would run all the way in on plane. what kind of boat was it, I saw someone come towards the canals fairly fast this afternoon.
 
I live on a canal. Theres a young kid who has a 13 whaler with a 50hp motor on it..He litterally goes on plane IN the canal. Ive said something to him before, and he says the wake his boat throws is no larger then what larger boats throw..Apparently we are going by wake size instead of speed...
 
My wife used to accuse me of being a "wake nazi", until she wound up with a knot on her head when some moron flew down the canal while she was cleaning. I have screamed, visited and even thrown things at idiots. Some learn to respect other peoples property and safety, some don't. My wife took a video of frequent violator and hand delivered it to the town bay constable. They followed her right back to the house and put a notice of some sort on the offending boat. That guy practically rows down the canal now.
 
Oh but for the good old day days when a round across the bow would have served the purpose!!

My club has a small canon that would be perfect for that. You don't HAVE to put a canon ball into it.:)

Too bad they won't loan it to me...smart people.

One never knows who reads BOATERED ! Apparently the good guys do !!!!

I was told he was ticketed the other day by an AWAITING officer just off my Marina. He apparently owns a house on the water in Merrick. Makes me happy that somethings done about these guys. Heart felt ty !!!!

Now........if they can just do something about the guys fishin in the channels.....................:)

At least Oyster bay Town officers do something! Babylon Town officers are told to do NOTHING by their boss. I complained in writing to the Town and they will not even acknowledge the letter.

That's because they were told to do nothing... like acknowedging your letter. :-)
